On the road again... just can't wait to get on the road again...
Enough lyrics. In all seriousness, it is time to get down to the business of exploring the world. Time to scratch that itch. Time to see if I can find my comfort zone, then step out of it.
As it turns out, travel is a lot like a drug. At first, exploring your own neighborhood is the coolest. Before long, you're wandering across town. If you're daring, perhaps even to the next town over.
Before you know it you're on a plane, headed for that fabled land of the Ottomans, via the mythical land of Hellenes.
As much as I like to hope and wish that my random journeys and the ponderances they generate might lead to some great breakthrough for myself or someone else, the odds of that are slim. So read on with hope but not expectation on that front. What I can promise are some slightly better than average pictures, and a lot of below average descriptions of food.
And please--if you're taking the time to read this confounded bit of keyboard clattering, feel free to leave comments. It's more fun if there actually seems to be an audience. I'm not authority but I might be able to answer a question or two along the way. You never know!
Safe travels, Charley! I look forward to your pictures — and hearing about the food!
ReplyDeleteAnd let me know if you happen to meet anyone with the name "Glyptus" or perhaps "Glyptos."
